Detailed description

When the need is great, you know how to keep calm

If a disaster or crisis occurs, you, as a member of the Emergency Response Team, are ready, together with ambulance personnel and other medical professionals, to provide assistance to those affected. Together with your Emergency Response team members, you are responsible for setting up the care location, receiving lightly injured victims and performing first aid. This means that the ambulance staff has their hands free for seriously injured patients. This way, everyone involved quickly receives the right help. As an Emergency Response Team Member you will receive:

  • Meaningful and responsible volunteer work, you make the difference!
  • Relevant education and training to properly prepare for emergency situations:
  • Extensive first aid
  • Basic First Aider, including walkie-talkie use
  • Events First responder
  • Emergency response team training
  • The opportunity to gain experience and contacts in an Emergency Aid Organization;
  • Red Cross clothing and you have a Pager with you 24 hours a day so that you can always be called in for emergencies (you indicate in a schedule when you are unable to attend);
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses incurred.


What do we ask?

  • You are stress-resistant and have resilience;
  • You take immediate action when something happens and are not afraid to take responsibility;
  • You are a real team player, flexible and strong in communication;
  • You are willing to attend annual training courses and participate 32 hours a year in first aid at major events to keep your skills up to date;
  • You have your own transport and have at least 1 year of experience as an event assistance provider.
