We will soon start with a meal on Sundays, so that homeless people can also enjoy a hot meal every day in Apeldoorn. For anyone who wants, there will be a meal in the drop-in center De Herberg between 5 and 6 p.m. This walk-in center belongs to the De Herberg Apeldoorn Foundation, which is committed to helping people who are disadvantaged by society.
As host/hostess of the drop-in center, you provide a hospitable welcome, hand out the meal, offer them fun and a listening ear. You do this together with 2 other colleagues. Of course you will also eat with us, we see contact with guests as very important.
You are expected at the Herberg at 4:15 PM. Before the doors open, you set the tables. The meal ends around 6:00 PM and we close the doors. After closing, you will ensure that everything is cleaned up and you will be ready around 6:30 PM.
The visitors to the drop-in center are very diverse. What they have in common is that they come by for (mutual) meeting and fun. It also applies to the majority that life is not always easy and they experience difficulties in several areas of life. We believe it is important that everyone is welcome and that everyone is held in high regard as a human being. Circumstances change
nothing about that. That evening's cooks prepare the meal.

As mentioned, it is an extra activity of the Herberg. Sunday is the only evening that a meal is not yet available for the homeless in the city center. We look forward to changing that. We need many new volunteers for this activity. We hope for a lot of enthusiasm!
In terms of availability, we require a minimum commitment of 2x per month.
Working at De Herberg is very satisfying. You work with beautiful people (both colleagues and visitors) and you provide a healthy and enjoyable meal for people for whom this is not self-evident. De Herberg provides guidance and introduction, a well-equipped living room/kitchen and coordination with other employees. You will end up in a team with driven people, in which you can also experience fun and involvement.
