Soup cooker, preparer of healthy heat

Every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, anyone who wants can eat a bowl of soup in De Herberg between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. This walk-in center belongs to the De Herberg Apeldoorn Foundation, which is committed to helping people who are disadvantaged by society.

As a soup cooker, you ensure that a healthy soup is prepared (approximately 7 liters) before the opening time of 1:30 PM. You decide for yourself which soup you want to make and you can use ingredients from the large freezer (here you will find products donated by Dirk v/d Broek). There is a small budget available from which you can also buy extra products for the soup you want to make.

As a soup cooker, you also contribute to distributing the soup, including a few sandwiches. You will work together with 3 colleagues who work as employees in the living room all afternoon.

The visitors to the drop-in center are very diverse. What they have in common is that they come by for (mutual) meeting and fun. It is also true for the majority that life is not always easy and they experience difficulties in several areas of life.

We believe it is important that everyone is welcome and that everyone is held in high regard as a human being. Circumstances don't change that.

In terms of availability, we require a minimum commitment of once per month. It would be ideal if you were available every other week.

Working at De Herberg is very satisfying. You work with beautiful people (both colleagues and visitors) and you provide a healthy snack for people for whom this is not self-evident.

De Herberg provides guidance and introduction, a well-equipped kitchen, coordination with other cooks and a budget for the ingredients. You will end up in a team with driven people, in which you can also experience fun and involvement.
