Summary

Are you flexible and do you want to dedicate your time and attention to someone else?

Detailed description

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for our flex pool who want to temporarily take over the tasks of an informal caregiver on an on-call basis.

What are you going to do?

As a flex pool volunteer, you temporarily take over the informal care tasks, so that the informal caregiver can take a break. It concerns the daily things, such as running errands, helping with meals, or watering the plants. But also just have a chat, keep company and drink a cup of coffee together or take a walk. The requests for help vary greatly, read some examples here . Naturally, you will be linked to a person seeking help based on mutual wishes and preferences.

When are flex volunteers deployed?

This can be during the day or in the evening, during the week or at the weekend. You indicate on which days and half-days you are available on call.

You are not alone!

As a volunteer you work together with the social network of the informal caregiver and their loved one. Sometimes a home care organization or other professional assistance is also involved in the care. Depending on the duration, several volunteers are deployed and a backup guard is always arranged. As a volunteer you do not perform medical procedures or other tasks that are part of professional care.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a heart for people and would like to be there for someone;
  • You are empathetic and a good listener;
  • You are flexible and available on an on-call basis;
  • You can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (we will reimburse the costs).

What do you get in return?

  • The opportunity to really mean something to someone else with your time and attention;
  • An introductory course, theme meetings and intervision;
  • A permanent point of contact and guidance from the Kap;
  • Travel allowance;
  • third party insurance;
  • As a volunteer at De Kap you are also part of a foundation that, together with more than 600 volunteers, is committed to a social city in which everyone counts.
