Do you really want to make a difference in someone's life?

We are looking for people who enjoy giving personal attention to someone who needs it. As a buddy at IrisZorg you can really make a difference in someone's life. Our clients often live in a small world with few family or friends. Loneliness lurks. But as a buddy you can break this simply by doing fun things together and 'being there'.

Meet about once a week. You discuss together what you are going to do, for example walking, cycling or doing a puzzle. Some clients want to join a (sports) club or visit a community center, but do not dare to take the first step. Then you can support this as a buddy and go together. You can also help with getting around on a laptop or learning Dutch. Others would just like to have a chat and drink coffee together. In short, plenty of options!

Where do we go from here?

After your registration, there will be an introductory meeting where we would like to hear from you who you are, what your hobbies are and what makes you happy. We will then look at which client suits you best. We do this very carefully and look for similarities in hobbies, age, attitude to life, etc. When we have found a good match, we arrange a first meeting.

What do you get in return?

Of course, you will also get a lot in return for your enthusiastic efforts. You meet interesting people, each with their own special story. You are of great importance to their recovery. This way you experience how fun and meaningful it is to work for our clients. We ensure that you can carry out your volunteer work well. We offer guidance, training, insurance, clear agreements recorded in a volunteer agreement and a volunteer allowance.

Who are you?

You are open in life. You can empathize with others without judgment. You are reliable and you are able to establish pleasant contact with our clients. If necessary, you can also be clear and indicate your boundaries. You know how to activate and enthuse someone in a natural way. You are available at least one half day per week.

Who are we?

IrisZorg is for young and old and for all walks of life. We are there for people who have problems in the areas of finances, relationships, work or (mental) health. Usually in combination with an addiction and/or (threatened) homelessness. We support clients towards recovery through integrated addiction treatment and social guidance. We could use your help as a buddy with this!
