For which target group will you work? You become a buddy of a 58-year-old social man with a mild mental handicap from Beekbergen. You come to visit him every two weeks and do activities with him. You take a walk on the grounds together, play a game or have a chat. If you know him a little better, you can also have a cup of coffee together in the village.

This is what we expect from you You like humor and fun. You can deal with his and the group's rules. You're pretty solid. You can address him, if necessary with humor, when he does not follow the rules. You are over 20 years old.

As a buddy you support young people or adults with a disability in their development. You have perseverance, empathy and patience.

The time investment you make depends on your own possibilities and wishes. Continuity is important, however, because a client is counting on your arrival. That is why it is important to make good agreements, which both of you should stick to.

Your efforts are an extremely valuable addition to the support that Pluryn offers to people with complex care questions. As a volunteer you bring that little bit extra. You ensure that clients can really participate in society. It also gives you satisfaction.

Description of location and target group Het Hietveld supports (young) adults with a mild to moderate intellectual disability and an intensive care requirement. These are young adult clients with complex behavioral and additional psychiatric problems. In addition, there is a small group of aging clients with a mental handicap and additional problems. The Hietveld offers services in Beekbergen, Loenen, Klarenbeek, Apeldoorn and Hoenderloo. People who come to live at Het Hietveld receive the care and support they need at that moment. The number of hours and the nature of the supervision differs per group. The development of the client is closely monitored. Moving on to another living group is one of the possibilities.
