JOB DESCRIPTION

The most important thing you do as a volunteer is to give your undivided attention to the children. From genuine commitment you are busy filling their love tank. You strike up a conversation with a child or you play, help with homework or play a game with a small group of children. You fulfill an important task as a role model for them. You also provide practical support, such as preparing fruit and tidying up craft supplies. We would also like to hear what you like to do: preparing a sports activity and cooking with a small group of children? Everything is possible.

WHAT KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS ARE NEEDED?

You have an affinity with our target group, experience (private or professional) in dealing with children is a nice thing. You are empathetic, patient and can indicate your limits. You feel at home among different cultures. Het Fort is an organization that acts from a Christian identity. We believe that God values every person. That is why we are open to every child and every volunteer.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?

You become part of the friendly and passionate Fort team. You get the smile of a child who enjoys the positive attention you give him. And the knowledge that you are making a valuable investment in a child's life. We also reimburse any travel costs.

WHAT IS THE ADDED VALUE OF THIS VOLUNTEER WORK?

There is a reason why you volunteer at Het Fort. You realize that you contribute something valuable to the lives of children who can use your attention and love. Together we ensure that all children are seen and can enjoy a wonderful afternoon. Those children who come to Het Fort grow up in more (financially and socially) vulnerable families. By your presence at Het Fort you offer them something that they would otherwise miss out on.

WORKING HOURS

We will agree in consultation when you will come and help. We are currently looking for volunteers for Tuesday afternoons from or between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. You can come every week, but also every other week. For example, if you can put in 3 hours every other week, that is also fine.

LOCATION

The Fort is located in the Old School Foundation building. Old School Apeldoorn is a renovated old school in the middle of the Apeldoorn-Zuid district where a community center, small care farm and living room are run. The Old School Foundation organizes numerous activities throughout the year for children, teenagers, adults and vulnerable people in society.
