On Friday afternoons we organize group activities for people with a mild, incipient form of dementia during the day treatment. You serve coffee/tea, read the newspaper together, but also simply make nice contact with our clients. On this day a lot is done with games, etc. to keep people active in this way, and thus slow down the disease. Besides being active yourself, you are also able to motivate people to participate. You have no problem standing in front of a group and addressing the participants, and can think 'creatively' to adapt different exercises to the participants, but you are also able to take a rest. In this way we not only help people to have fun with each other, but also to ease and slow down the process they are in.
