Re-creation' indicates renewal, refreshment; the purpose of recreation is to recharge the personal radius of action, to renew energy, to oppose the senses and to discharge accumulated tension.In Heemhof nursing home you can choose from a wide range of activities, including various recreational activities, a discussion group, a movie afternoon and all kinds of music activities. Volunteers contribute to this.
Now we are actively looking for volunteers who want to help with the recreational activities during the weekend, especially for the residents of both target groups (elderly with dementia, people with Huntington's disease Chorea) who would like to experience something.

Who are we?
At Atlant we give space, literally and figuratively. For us, people are the most important thing. Every person is beautiful. We support vulnerable people. That is our raison d'être. We do this carefully, out of full conviction, straight from the heart! Our employees and volunteers are crucial in this, they are worth gold. They have time for each other, do what they are good at, talk to each other and grow.
Activities
De Heemhof has a recreation afternoon on the third Saturday of the month. This afternoon an artist can perform. Residents and family members from all over the location are welcome.
Before the activity, we prepare the room for the activity that is being organised. Then we pick up the residents who like to go out. During the activity you pay attention to residents and possibly the visitors that came along. You help during the break to offer the residents a drink and a snack if this is available. Staff and volunteers are needed to ensure that the activity runs smoothly and in an attractive manner. You understand it already, you have to like parties and be able to build an atmosphere that fits the activity.

We offer
The activity counselor explains the possibilities of the residents, and how you can best deal with the residents as a volunteer. So that you can change your mind once a month and gain new energy.
- Getting to know the activity supervisor, employees, fellow volunteers, and residents of the 4 different departments,
- Familiarize yourself with this location and in the Grand café,
- Good information about the resident and how to deal with the different residents,

Time use
1X per month on Saturday afternoon from 1.50 pm to 4.15 pm, the third Saturday of the month.
