Volunteer who can reassure people

At Atlant we give space, literally and figuratively. For us, people are the most important thing. Every person is beautiful. We support vulnerable people. That is our raison d'être. We do this carefully, with full conviction, straight from the heart! Our employees and volunteers are crucial in this, they are worth their weight in gold. They have time for the other, do what they are good at, talk to each other

on and grow.

We not only work closely with the residents, but also with volunteers. They are very important to us. We provide knowledge and cooperation, so that the volunteer can give his attention to the resident.

Will you join our oral care team?

In the nursing homes of Atlant: Markenhof - Marken Haven and in the Heemhof, a dentist or dental hygienist is present at fixed times to keep the residents' teeth and mouth healthy.

For all residents who have difficulty visiting the dentist, we want an attendant who takes the residents from the apartment/department to the dental room within our locations on foot or with a wheelchair, reassures/helps the resident during the consultation, and then returns the resident accompanies.

We are looking for a volunteer who knows that an appointment at the dentist or dental hygienist can be quite exciting. Who can motivate the resident together with the employees to go to the treatment room anyway. It is nice if the volunteer has an affinity with people with psychological problems, Korsakov's syndrome, dementia or Huntington's. These are the target groups that live in Atlant's nursing homes.

What are you going to do?

· You start with the oral care team here you go through the appointments of the day part

· You pick up the resident from the department and take him or her to the treatment room

· If the resident likes you to stay nearby during the treatment, this is possible

· After the treatment you bring the resident back to the ward and you report there what has been done and whether you are not allowed to eat or drink for a while

What do we expect from you:

· Taking and returning residents

· Putting residents at ease during the check-up or treatment

· Reassure, comfort, support the residents

· Ability to use a wheelchair, or willingness to learn it

What can you expect from us:

· Guidance from the various departments aimed at dealing with the resident

· An enthusiastic treatment team

· Induction by the volunteer coordinator and the dentists

· Correct appointment schedule

· Third-party accident insurance

· Travel allowance

Parts of the day that are available for voluntary support are: Wednesday and Thursday morning in Beekbergen locations Markenhof and Marken Haven

And on Monday, Thursday and Friday morning at the Heemhof location in Apeldoorn, the Maten district.
