Summary
On the Woldhuis estate, employees and volunteers maintain the organic vegetable garden and orchard. Lovely outdoors, in the middle of nature!Detailed description
The work at Campus Woudhuis is done as much as possible by people with a work disability and students in secondary special education. Under the expert guidance of professionals, volunteers and interns. We are always looking for the right mix of people. Discovering and using everyone's qualities is central.
We offer fun and varied work and contact with great people in a beautiful location in Apeldoorn on the edge of the Woudhuizen district. Do you like to be busy in the green at your own pace and time? Then come work at Campus Woudhuis. With us there is always time for a cup of coffee, you learn a lot and you work nicely in the fields and in the herb garden.
What can you do?
We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to help with creating planting beds, sowing and planting seedlings, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting and much more. In short: with everything that is needed to grow vegetables. We do this in an organic way.
Thinking about the cultivation plan and implementation is possible, because we try to make plans together as much as possible. We discuss how it can be done and not how it should be done. We spend the breaks together as much as possible with the supervisors, employees and volunteers.
What kind of vegetable garden is it?
The garden is in use for 3 seasons in 2021. Since 2016 there has been an orchard.
The soil is wet sand with organic matter and probably loam in places. A layer of soil that is disturbing does not allow water to pass through, which means that a lot of water remains on the soil, especially in winter. The garden is surrounded by tall trees, which means that there is more or less shade in all places. By working on ridges, it is possible to grow strawberries, blackberries, potatoes, beans, Swiss chard, courgettes and pumpkins. More varieties should be possible, but that simply has to be tried.
Time Spent
You can come one to five days a week and work a few hours. One or more fixed days are best, because our employees like clarity and the supervisors know who they can count on.
