General
The De Herberg Apeldoorn Foundation is a foundation that is particularly committed to people who are homeless in the municipality of Apeldoorn. The foundation, formerly known as Citypastoraat, has been in existence since 1978.
Everyone is welcome at De Herberg. We want to give our visitors the feeling that they are welcome, that they are heard and that they can be themselves. A large proportion of visitors are homeless or homeless.
We organize walk-in afternoons almost every day and once a week our visitors can enjoy a hot meal for a small fee. In addition, people can have a weekly conversation with our experts during our consultation hours and we offer a letter address to people who do not have their own home.
A letter address is provided in collaboration with the Municipality of Apeldoorn to people who cannot register elsewhere for various reasons. Because a letter address is of a temporary nature, we offer support and referral from the Herberg when thinking about solutions for the situation that has arisen.
Postal address holders are expected to come by weekly to pick up mail. This offers a great moment to have a chat about how things are going. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with the current line-up. For this reason, we are looking for a volunteer who wants to shape this low-threshold contact during the delivery of the mail.

As an assistant you provide mailing address:
- interest in the life of the postal address holders
- a listening ear, people can tell you their story
- integrity and care in dealing with people's stories and mail
- a good cooperation between you and the small team that deals with this
You work at least once a week on Tuesday and/or Friday afternoon, from 13:15 to 16:00.
What do we offer
We offer you the experience of meeting other people, in which both the other and yourself are held in high regard. You will be part of a small team with expert and driven people. You will receive a tailor-made induction program, training and periodic consultations to be scheduled with your colleagues.
