Summary
Stichting de Kap and Hospice Apeldoorn will start basic training for new volunteers in palliative terminal care (VPTZ) on Wednesday 22 March.
Detailed description
The help that VPTZ volunteers provide to people going through a difficult time is invaluable. Simply 'being there' can give informal carers and terminally ill people the feeling that they are not alone. Working as a volunteer in terminal care, both at home and in a care institution or Hospice, is very satisfying. Every request for help and every situation is unique and as a VPTZ volunteer you can often mean a lot to people.
The volunteers of the Kap keep watch during the night and during the day.
Especially for the night, the Kap is looking for people who want to temporarily relieve the family so that they can cope better during the day. The training consists of eight sessions. You discover what the work entails, what you may encounter and what is expected of you as a volunteer. The last training day is on Wednesday morning 26 April.
