Detailed description

Dealing with people with depression or anxiety

Zuid Doet Samen and MEE are organizing a series of mini-courses for the residents of Apeldoorn-Zuid in 2022. This mini-course is about Depression and Anxiety. It is on Monday evenings June 27 and July 4 (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM).

You meet many people every day. Among them may be people with depression or anxiety. Perhaps someone close to you.

Because this limitation is not visible, you do not always recognize it immediately. Knowledge about recognizing depression and anxiety can help you to understand the other person better and make contact run more smoothly. Which means that someone with this disorder can better participate in society. Because understanding, participating, belonging, using your talents, everyone wants.

Depression is a mental disorder that affects a person's feelings, thoughts and mood. People who are depressed are sad for a long time and hardly feel like doing anything. They often lose interest in things around them, can have problems concentrating, have difficulty making decisions and can no longer really enjoy themselves. They can feel tired, restless, guilty and worthless.

If you suffer from an anxiety disorder, you are excessively anxious and worried about everyday things. You can worry a lot about things that could happen, without there being a direct reason for it. You can be anxious in situations where everyone agrees that there is no real danger.

This mini-course on depression and anxiety consists of two interactive evening meetings with theory, videos and experiential exercises that will give you more insight into what it entails and the impact it has on the life of the person themselves and their loved ones.

Of course there is also room for your questions. This mini-course is given by MEE, which is why this meeting about anxiety and depression is linked to people with a disability.
