Dealing with people with depression or anxiety
Zuid Doet Samen and MEE will organize a series of mini courses in 2022 for the residents of Apeldoorn-South. This mini-course is about Depression and Anxiety. This is on Monday evening June 27 and July 4 (19:00 – 21:00).
You meet many people every day. They may also include people with depression or anxiety. Perhaps someone close to you.
Because this limitation is not visible, you do not always recognize it immediately. Knowledge about recognizing depression and anxiety can help you understand the other better and make contact more smoothly. As a result, someone with this disorder can better participate in society. Because everyone wants to understand, participate, belong, use your talents.
Depression is a mental illness that affects a person's feelings, thoughts, and mood. People who are depressed are gloomy for a long time and have almost nothing to do. They often lose interest in the things around them, may suffer from concentration problems, difficulty making decisions and can no longer really enjoy themselves. They may feel tired, restless, guilty and worthless.
If you suffer from an anxiety disorder, you are excessively anxious and concerned about everyday things. You can then worry a lot about things that could happen, without there being a direct reason for it. You can be anxious in situations where everyone agrees that there is no real danger.
This mini-course on depression and anxiety consists of two interactive evening sessions with theory, videos and experiential exercises that give you more insight into what it means and what impact it has on the life of the person and their loved ones.
Of course there is also room for your questions. This mini-course is given by MEE, which is why this meeting about anxiety and depression is linked to people with disabilities.
