Language Buddy

Our clients are away from home; safe but alone. But sometimes they do not speak Dutch yet, which makes communication with others and organizations difficult. How nice is it then, that there is someone who speaks their language? Are you that someone? Your help is then very much appreciated!

Moviera stands for tackling domestic violence. At various shelters we offer professional assistance and temporary shelter to people who have experienced domestic violence. Moviera clients often do not have their own network. That is difficult. Especially if you do not speak the language and/or come from another country. That is why we are looking for buddies who want to connect with these clients. As a buddy you offer practical support and above all you offer company. Time investment depends on the possibilities that you have as a volunteer. This in addition to the professional assistance that they receive.

We ask

• You enjoy helping people and you are proficient in Dutch and Arabic.
• You have strong social skills (reliable, independent and friendly).
• You can set priorities and boundaries.
• You can submit a Certificate of Good Conduct (new application reimbursed by Moviera) and provide a reference.
• You want to endorse Moviera's code of conduct.
