Detailed description
The Meezan Foundation helps children with the hereditary blood disease Thalassemia in Afghanistan. The foundation does this by offering financial and material support. The foundation organizes activities to raise money. Organizations and individuals also make a contribution .
Meezan is a young foundation, founded by Jamillah Habib. Jamillah was born in Afghanistan and has been living in the Netherlands for several years. She herself has two children who have Thalassemia. Thanks to the excellent medical care here in the Netherlands, her children are doing well.
Its goal is to provide two options for parents and children in Afghanistan:
- Early diagnosis in couples considering having a child. DNA testing can determine whether there is Thalassemia
- By financially supporting doctor Dr. Mohammad Noor Zhardan in the hospital in her native village of Khost so that he can buy medicines and equipment to treat young patients.
In order to achieve the goal described above, it is urgent that Jamillah can form a Board that will roll up its sleeves in at least the following matters:
- Setting up the financial administration
- Apply for ANBI status
- Helping to set up and carry out activities such as a dress market, Afghan dinner evening, cooking together or whatever you can think of to raise money.
Do you have an affinity with Meezan's goal and/or with Afghanistan and do you have the time and desire to help Jamillah in further setting up and shaping Meezan, please contact Jamillah on 06-27090626.
