Summary

Do you think it's important that people feel welcome? Do you make contact easily? Do you like to be a spider in the web? Become a counter employee!

Detailed description

As a desk clerk you receive people at a location and put them at ease. You answer calls or transfer calls to the right person. Sometimes you refer people to other agencies. You process the mail and ensure that fresh coffee and tea is always ready. Light administrative tasks can also be part of your work. In this way you ensure that refugees can be optimally helped at your location.

This will get you

  • A stimulating work environment with room for your own development.
  • Plenty of opportunities to learn more about other cultures.
  • Pleasant team under the guidance of a professional.
  • Extensive induction program and the possibility to follow all kinds of courses.
  • Travel or expense allowance.

What do you need to become a desk clerk?

As a counter employee you are the face of a location. You easily make contact, both with refugees and with authorities, and you can give clear but simple explanations. You are customer-friendly, representative and keep a good overview. You can also work accurately and independently. Naturally, we expect a respectful attitude towards cultural differences and an honest handling of confidential information. We ask all our employees to provide a Declaration of Good Conduct.

'Everyone knows me here. When refugees enter our building and see me from afar, they often wave right away, even before they arrive at the counter.'
