Summary
On Tuesday afternoons we are looking for supervisors for the Time4You meetings for children aged 8-12.Detailed description
VluchtelingenWerk Nederland is a professional volunteer organization. We represent the interests of and support refugees, including children. In the Netherlands, thousands of refugee children and young people grow up in asylum seeker centers. They are vulnerable and deserve our attention. The Council for Refugees has developed the Time4You project especially for them. Are you enthusiastic and do you want to work for children and young people staying at an asylum center? Then read on!
What is Time4You?
Time4You offers information and weekly group meetings for children and young people in asylum seeker centers. During the meetings we discuss themes, provide information, children and young people are given the opportunity to ask questions or tell their story and we organize fun activities. Time4You focuses on the empowerment of children and young people living in asylum seeker centers and stands up for their interests.
Every Time4You we will have a relaxed and playful conversation with the group based on a theme. Time4You's are organized for children aged 8 to 12 years and for young people aged 13 to 18 years.
In Apeldoorn we are looking for volunteers for the ages 8 to 12 years.
Time4You is facilitated by an enthusiastic team of 2 to 4 volunteers per group. The teams are supervised by a project employee from the Council for Refugees.
Prepare, inform and signal!
As a Time4You supervisor, you contribute to the substantive design of the thematic meetings. You prepare and facilitate the weekly meetings together with your team. These take place on a fixed day of the week. Every now and then you also facilitate information. In total, you should take into account an availability of approximately four hours per week. As a supervisor you are also responsible for maintaining weekly attendance lists. Finally, you have a signaling role to recognize 'worrying' behavior and discuss it with the project employee.
We are looking for volunteers for Apeldoorn who are available on Tuesday afternoons.
Before and after, you meet a little earlier to prepare and discuss the activity afterwards.
We offer you:
- A stimulating and challenging working environment with room for your own development.
- Plenty of opportunities to learn more about other cultures.
- A pleasant team in which everyone supports each other to help refugees together.
- All volunteers work under the supervision of a professional.
- VluchtelingenWerk also offers an induction program including the mandatory basic course, workshops and training courses and travel and expense reimbursement. We also ask all our employees to provide a Declaration of Conduct.
Enthusiastic?
