Do you want to contribute to a better world? Do you want to use your free time and your talent? Then the Wereldwinkel might be your good cause. Beautiful and special products with a story. Socially concerned. But also a cozy shop, nice volunteers and a good atmosphere.


World shop:

The Wereldwinkel Apeldoorn was founded in 1971. On average, approximately 30 volunteers work there. Most of them work as shopkeepers in the store. The shopkeepers usually work according to a fixed schedule. In addition to the shopping service, the volunteers participate in one or more working groups. The World Shop sells products from developing countries. The makers of these products have received a fair price for this. In addition, the trade relations are for a longer period of time, which gives them more certainty. Attention is paid to the role of women and child labor is not used.


Management:

The board of Vereniging Wereldwinkel Apeldoorn is responsible for the management of the store and the well-being of all volunteers. The organization has recently started working with various working groups, which have their own tasks and are self-managing, such as purchasing, volunteers and organization. There are 8 working groups in total. Each board member is portfolio holder of one or more working groups and represents this working group in the board. The chairman is excluded from this task.


What are you going to do

  • Preparing board meetings in consultation with the secretary.
  • Lead meetings and ensure proactive decision-making.
  • Representing the organization to the outside world and seeking connections with third parties who can mean something to the organization.
