Volunteer vacancy: cook

Ons Honk is a meeting place in Apeldoorn-south where local residents meet, have a meal and various activities take place.

We have had a very nice professional kitchen for 2 years.

Every day we cook a delicious hot meal. Residents from the south register to come and have a nice meal with us. Our volunteers serve about 15/30 local residents during the day and about 12 people on Wednesday evenings.

During the day we start preparing the meal for that day at 09:00 and have dinner at 12:00. Our local residents eat with us from 12:00 to 13:00.

On Wednesday evenings we start cooking at about 4:00 PM and we eat from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. After that we will clean up and do the dishes and we will be ready around 19:00/19:30.

Our goal is not commercial, it is to connect people and have a nice meal together.

We are looking for a volunteer cook for Wednesday during the day, Wednesday evening and Friday during the day who wants to cook with us. The working hours are during the day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in the evening from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

We are looking for several cooks, so you can also alternate in terms of days/times.

We offer good guidance and you work together in and with a nice group of volunteers.

Your duties will include preparing meals, cooking, then tidying up and cleaning.

As a volunteer cook you meet the following requirements;

• Affinity with cooking

• Available on Wednesday and/or Friday

• Working hygienically

• Enjoy being in contact with people

• Able to keep appointments

• Flexibility

Candidates with previous experience as a chef are preferred.
