Summary
For our group of mentally handicapped clients, we are looking for someone who can do some small sewing and repair work for a few hours a month.Detailed description
Who are we?
We are a residential group for people with a severe to moderate intellectual disability with an adult age. This can be compared to the level of a baby to a toddler. Our home is located on the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo, where they receive 24-hour care. So there is always supervision present. During the day, a number of clients go to a day care group and a number are at home. The clothing of the clients is marked with a label in the collar, so that the clothing remains with the right client. For this we share a sewing machine with the neighboring group.
What are we asking?
We are looking for a volunteer who enjoys sewing and repairing our clients' clothing for 1 to a few hours per month. This involves marking newly purchased clothing and repairing clothing that is damaged. Given the developmental age (0-4 years), things sometimes break or get worn out. The sewing machine and supplies are available. Sewing can be done in the group or taken home if desired. One month will be busier than the other, depending on the purchased or damaged clothing. The time and day are in consultation with each other. Will you come and support us?
