Summary
Erik is a 41 year old man with acquired brain damage, he would like a buddy with whom he can chat about things.Detailed description
Who is Erik?
Erik is a cheerful, well-groomed and enthusiastic 41-year-old man with an intellectual disability that he developed later in life. He lives in a residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. He has a lot of humor and has a very positive outlook on life. He is very social and attentive and always up for fun. He sometimes speaks a bit unclearly to unknown people and it takes time to understand what he means. But if you get to know him a little, he can make himself clear. It is important that you do not treat him like a small child. Erik can stand, but cannot walk, which is why he uses a wheelchair. During the week he goes to a day care group at the residential care park, where he prefers to saw wood. In his spare time he enjoys listening to music, watching films, exercising, sitting on a terrace looking at beautiful women and walking outside. He has a subscription with our leisure department. Every Wednesday something is organized such as; disco, music café and movie house. He would like to participate in this with a volunteer. Sometimes he goes to his parents for the weekend.
Erik has epilepsy.
What is Erik asking?
Erik really wants a buddy (preference for a man) with whom he can do fun things. Preferably a man of his age who he has a good connection with. With whom he can chat and talk about things. Erik previously had a normal life and only developed a disability later in life. So a friendship with someone from normal life is very important to him. Enjoy looking at beautiful women on the terrace, making jokes, going out, having something to eat or drink at our Brasserie, going for a walk, going to a film evening or music café at our residential care park on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Preferably on the weekend or on Wednesday evening. The frequency, day and time are in consultation. The supervisors will ensure that you are trained in his epilepsy.
