Jeroen is a 36-year-old man with a serious multiple disability. He enjoys a walk around our property in his wheelchair.Detailed description
Who is Jeroen?
Jeroen is a 36-year-old man with a serious multiple disability. Jeroen enjoys walking and cuddling and is a fan of horse videos. He is dependent on a wheelchair and on the care of the people of 's Heeren Loo. It functions around 9 months of age. Jeroen cannot talk, but uses sounds and signals to let you know what he does and does not want. He yells or laughs when he likes something and pushes you away when he doesn't like something. He has Angelman syndrome. He can laugh in stressful situations. Of course his supervisors can tell you more about this.
He understands short messages that appear in his structure.
When he knows you a little better, he'll give you a hug.
He is epileptic, but fortunately has been seizure-free for years. His supervisors are happy to tell you more about this.
What does Jeroen ask?
It would be very nice if Jeroen had a buddy who could take him for a nice walk. This is possible at our beautiful residential care park, but also outside it. The day, frequency and time can be discussed. Preferably someone who comes by regularly, so that Jeroen recognizes you faster. He will be shy at first.
Do you enjoy walking and do you like to take Jeroen with you and enjoy it together?
