Summary

We are looking for people who want to walk us to church in our wheelchair on Sundays and to the drum band on our grounds on Tuesday evenings.

Detailed description

Who are we?

We live in a residential group with 7 elderly clients at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. The ages are between 53 and 81 years. People with severe multiple disabilities, comparable to a baby's age, live there. They all use a wheelchair. The clients cannot speak but you can tell that they enjoy going to church and one of the residents likes to go to her drum band for half an hour on Tuesday evenings.

Our clients enjoy going to church on Sunday mornings. They need someone to push their wheelchairs. A lady likes to go to her drum band in the Vierhuis on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 19:30 to practice. She also needs someone to push her wheelchair. Church is in the Vierhuis on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to about 11:15.

So if you want to make our residents happy by pushing their wheelchair, we would love to meet you!

What are we asking?

We are looking for volunteers who want to go to church with us on Sundays (het Vierhuis) at the residential care park. Volunteers who come to pick us up in the morning with the wheelchair and walk to the nearby Vierhuis. The church is there for everyone and everyone's faith. Afterwards we would like to be brought back. Even if you do not believe, it is a place where you can enjoy the clients who enjoy themselves. Depending on the staffing that day, it will be decided who will go and who can go. We are also looking for someone for Tuesday evenings who can take a resident to her drum band in het Vierhuis in her wheelchair. You will be properly trained in this. We prefer to go to church every Sunday, but once every 2 weeks or once a month would also be very nice.

We offer you

  • A nice volunteer position
  • An end of year gift
  • Insured for third party liability and accidents
  • Travel expenses reimbursement
  • Annual volunteer party as a thank you for your efforts
  • Possibility of training and information meetings
