Summary

Margot has an intellectual disability and would like to go to town together every 6 weeks for a cup of coffee and a browse

Detailed description

Who is Margot?

Margot is a 72-year-old woman with a moderate intellectual disability. Verbally she is quite strong and seems to be able to do more than she can mentally and emotionally handle. Verbally you can compare her to primary school age and emotionally to a toddler. Margot lives in a group at our residential care park, where she receives 24-hour care and guidance. She likes to be sociable and likes to seek it out. But first she is waiting to see what happens. She likes to receive a compliment about how she looks. She likes make-up, nice clothes and jewelry. She also likes to go shopping in the city. She is allowed to walk to the shopping center independently with a walker, because this is a familiar route for her. But she is not allowed to go to the city independently.

She also uses OV-plus. Margot needs clarity and boundaries, so that she knows where she stands. If it is not clear to her, she will ask a lot of questions and can become restless.

She enjoys watching TV, calling family, going to the club afternoon, singing and shopping. She goes to day care at the residential care park 2 days a week.

What is Margot asking?

For Margot we are looking for a friendly volunteer who would like to go to town with her once every 6 weeks (no fixed time). Have a nice browse, drink coffee and sometimes buy clothes. Preferably on Monday or Thursday, because then she is free. A volunteer who approaches her calmly, can be clear and has the time to make it a pleasant afternoon. You can go together by car (walker must be folded up). You will receive travel expenses and compensation for all expenses incurred. Or you can go together by public transport. The preference is for a woman.

We offer you
