Summary
Our residential group houses 8 young people with a mild intellectual disability between the ages of 18 and 25.Detailed description
Who are we?
We are a new residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. Here live 8 young people between the ages of 18 and 25, all with a mild intellectual disability. We can do a lot ourselves, but need verbal guidance and support for a number of things. We are all mobile. The things we like to do are: gardening, crafting, walking, cycling, gaming, cooking/baking, outings, listening to music/DJing, Wii, Playstation, playing games, etc. Due to our additional problems; ADHD, autism, PTSD and FAS, things do not always go smoothly and smoothly and we can sometimes become verbally and sometimes physically aggressive. Fortunately, our support staff is always present to guide us in this.
What are we asking?
We would love to have a volunteer who would come to us once a week/once a week to do fun activities with us for those who feel like it that day. Some extra attention and time to do something 1 on 1, for example. Gardening together, crafting/building, going on outings (with supervision), cycling, walking, cooking/baking together or going to church at our residential care park, etc. 2 hours would be great! When and how often you come is flexible and in consultation with the group. Are you that fun, sweet, active volunteer who enjoys working with young people? Then come over for a nice cup of coffee to get to know each other!
