Summary

The Week Against Loneliness starts on September 25. A great opportunity to increase your knowledge and gain practical tips.

Detailed description

In Apeldoorn, 44.8% of residents feel lonely more often than they would like. As many as 12.1% experience severe loneliness – that is more than 20,000 people. There is a good chance that you, as a volunteer, will also meet people who struggle with this. But how do you recognize loneliness? And what can you do?

Loneliness specialist Inge van Dalen takes you along in this current and sensitive theme. From her expertise she provides insight into the causes and signals of loneliness, and – at least as important – into what you as a volunteer can do to make a difference. She shares her knowledge in an accessible, inspiring way, with room for questions and interaction.

During the training you will learn:

  • What Loneliness Is – and What It Isn't
  • How to recognize it in your environment
  • What helps and what you should avoid
  • How to get in touch
  • Practical tips that you can immediately apply in your volunteer work

What does it yield?

After completing the course, you will have more insight into loneliness and you will have tools to support people in an appropriate way. You will know what you can do - and that it makes a difference
