About Stepping Stones

We are looking for volunteers for our beautiful villa Marianna in Apeldoorn!

We believe it is essential to give our residents a feeling of home. Well-being is a very important part of human health. For this we are looking for people who care about vulnerable elderly people and have some time left to offer them some extra attention. What appeals to you? We would like to hear it!

Getting started as a volunteer at Stepping Stones
Do you want an inspiring, meaningful and fun challenge? Then become a volunteer at Stepping Stones Villa Marianna. Whether you have a lot or little time, there is always something to do that suits you. As a volunteer you make a valuable contribution to the well-being of residents. Your listening ear and personal attention mean a lot to them. It is a meaningful leisure activity that can give you a lot of satisfaction.

What are your wishes?
We believe it is important that the work matches your qualities and the time you want to make available for it. That could be one day a week, but also a few hours a month. Of course you will be trained and you will receive all the information you need to properly perform your tasks. If necessary, you will receive training on issues you encounter when carrying out volunteer work. In short: we provide professional support, clear agreements and a volunteer agreement. The possibilities are very diverse!

A selection of the activities:

Cooking/baking activity with (and for) our residents
Serve coffee and/or tea
Help with serving the meals
Helping with activities (e.g. walking, duo bikes, games, reading, musical activities, bingo, seasonal activity, talking about art and culture, shopping, outing)
Once a month with Walk with the Guide (Apeldoorn guides collective) and/or as a guide to the Coda museum
Help with relaxing afternoons or evenings
Visits from residents
Bring a dog that wants to be petted
Maybe you have some nice ideas of your own, they are always welcome!

Villa Marianna is located in the beautiful tree-lined neighborhood 'De Parken'. In this district you will find beautiful buildings of historical value, including that of Villa Marianna! This care villa has 12 apartments for residents with dementia, including one room for a couple. Villa Marianna is pleasantly clear and protective. Residents quickly feel at home. This is also because we do a lot together and consult together. For example, about the food we prepare together. We play board games together and know each other really well. This creates a pleasant and safe family feeling.
